Marketing Strategist (Part-Time / Contract) — UpNext

UpNext is seeking a creative and strategic Marketing Strategist to help grow awareness and partnerships for our innovative student development platform. In this role, you will design and execute marketing strategies that connect UpNext with parents, high schools, educators, and community organizations. The ideal candidate understands how to position mission-driven programs, build strong messaging, and develop campaigns that generate interest, credibility, and enrollment. This role will work closely with the founder to shape brand positioning, outreach initiatives, and digital marketing strategies as UpNext expands partnerships with schools and communities.
Requirements
Proven experience in marketing strategy, brand positioning, or growth marketing Experience marketing education programs, youth initiatives, or mission-driven startups preferred Strong ability to craft compelling messaging for parents, educators, and community partners Experience supporting digital campaigns (LinkedIn, Instagram, email, community outreach, etc.) Ability to design marketing funnels that drive awareness, interest, and enrollment Comfortable working in a startup environment with a high level of ownership and initiative Strong written communication and storytelling skills Experience with marketing tools such as CRM systems, email marketing platforms, or social media management tools Ability to collaborate directly with leadership and translate vision into actionable marketing strategies Based in Houston or familiar with the Houston startup or education ecosystem preferred
